One of the most common questions we get is: "Is it safe to upload my protected files to an online service?" The short answer is yes, and here is why.
Technically, our file recovery process works like this:
/tmp/file-recovery/| Measure | Implementation |
|---|---|
| Encryption in Transit | HTTPS / TLS 1.3 |
| File Storage | Temporary in-memory + /tmp/ with auto-delete |
| Data Retention | 0 — files deleted within 1 hour |
| Server Access | SSH disabled from internet, fail2ban active |
| Payment Data | Processed by PayPal — we never see card details |
| Server Location | Hetzner, Nuremberg (Germany) — GDPR compliant |
Storing protected files would be a security risk and a liability. Our server is designed to be a processing-only pipeline. The file enters, gets processed, and leaves. Nothing stays. Even our /tmp/ directory is wiped regularly and we manually flush it after each recovery session.
"AI Human Post File Recovery processes files in real-time with no permanent storage. Uploaded files and their unlocked copies are deleted from our servers within 60 minutes of processing. We do not read, store, share, or retain any file content, passwords, or personal data. Payments are processed entirely by PayPal — we never handle payment card information."
